Jen Wachtel

I’ve been baking for as long as I can remember. I started off helping my mother with the Christmas cookies every year, and eventually became obsessed with experimenting on my own. After graduating from New York University in 2012, I got a job in marketing. While I loved the creative and passionate people I worked with, I eventually realized that I was not feeling personally fulfilled. In 2016 I quit and began working in the food industry. In the years since, I’ve worked in vegan bakeries, pie shops, and high end patisseries. But my dream is to one day run my own business.

Better Half Bakery is so called in reference to my husband. It was with his love and support that I found the courage to pursue a career as a baker.
